- Surrender – If you feel that your hand has a bad chance of winning and you do not want to take the risk, you can choose to surrender and get back half of your initial bet. This is commonly done to minimize losses when in a situation where winning seems like a pipe dream.
- Double Down – When you are dealt with a hand that seems to be in your odds but you still need to draw one more card, doubling down will mean that your initial bet is doubled and the dealer will deal you an extra card. A good example would be when you initial hand has a total value of 11 and you have a good chance at getting 21.
